Mission & Vision
“Seeking the best for each child”

Our Mission
Our mission statement was selected to convey the Core Values of the Schools.
- We seek to bring out the best in each child whilst delivering to them excellent academic training and Life skills.
- Each child’s ability is recognised, valued and developed so that they can achieve their full potential. We always put the best interest of the children at the heart of everything we do.
- We will provide a safe, positive, stimulating and happy environment where children thrive and are curious to learn, and develop a life-long love of learning.
- To develop and celebrate a culture of respect, tolerance and collaboration across our local and global communities.
Our Vision
Raising students equipped with the academic knowledge, leadership qualities, discipline and skills necessary to cope with the challenges of the 21st Century and excel.
Our Curriculum
We have a rich and varied curriculum designed to develop the child academically and for social interaction. Our curriculum is explained in detail under ‘Academics’.

Management
The school is governed by a Board of Governors. The day-to-day management of the schools is by the Head of Schools, Mrs Abimbola Biobaku. She is assisted by The Schools Co-ordinator and chair of the Senior Leadership Team who manages and co-ordinates the three arms – Secondary, Primary and Preschool. The primary school is headed by a Head teacher. Our teachers are well qualified, dedicated professionals. The school invests in staff training as we believe continuous professional development is essential for the maintenance of our educational standards here at Basil.
Discipline
We have clear structured guidelines on behaviour and personal discipline. The Basil code of behaviour is spelt out and ensured from pre-school. From early years, pupils are taught manners and simple courtesies and they acquire more behavioural niceties as they progress in the different levels. Rudeness is not tolerated and neither is bullying of fellow pupils and students.
We believe in positive discipline. Basil adopts a therapeutic approach to behaviour management – ‘All behaviour is a form of communication’. So where behavioural standards fall short, we take time to understand and work with the child.

PARENTS, PUPILS & THE SCHOOL
A successful school relies on the valuable partnership between home and school. At Basil, we encourage close contact between home and school to maintain this partnership. Apart from formal parents’ evenings and written progress reports throughout the year, staff are available to discuss any part of a child’s education or welfare.
Parents are encouraged to attend school celebrations, performances, and events.
Religion
We welcome children of all religions. The key tenants of life in Basil Schools are:
- Show consideration and love to others (treat others as you would like to be treated)
- Respect your peers and elders and differences between individuals
- Godliness
- Moral Uprightness
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Courtesy
